I like to set up systems that require failure because the truth is always messier than the ideal.These machine paintings combine ancient materials such as egg tempera and encaustic with cutting edge CNC fabrication technology. The patterns explore the limitations of one single—sometimes day-long—stroke of paint, or a neverending cut, and push the uniformity of manufactured materials to the edge of their perfection.
